Advisory board meetings are a platform for in-depth discussions, where participants can share their perspectives, challenge assumptions, and propose innovative solutions.
They tend to be fairly informal, and regularly have a requirement for remote participants to join for all or part of the meeting.
Although there is little need for amplification in a meeting this small, microphones are still essential to collect clear audio for anyone not 'in person' in the room.

This mornings 10 person discussion is for a pharmaceutical consortium, and an important aspect is to record the audio from the proceedings.
In addition, there are two medical writers busily capturing the important facts for 'the record'.
Using mics positioned at each seat means quality audio can be captured for the recording without the echoes of the room normally experienced when only using one or two microphones.

We use the Allen & Heath patented AMM Automatic mix function on the digital mixer. This uses a constant gain sharing algorithm, and reacts almost instantly when people start talking, and adjusts the volume of all microphones to lift the voice of each person, whilst keeping the background noise to a minimum.
Although there was no PA system in a room this small, we did set up a monitor loudspeaker for the two medical writers sat at their table. This allowed them to hear every important word, even when the softly spoken person speaking has their back to the writers table.
