Remarkable Industrial Venues Perfect for Hosting Corporate Events

Are you tired of bland conference hotels and their lookalike meeting rooms?
Trying to find something a little more interesting for your next event? Britain's industrial heritage is rich and diverse, and there are many grand old buildings dotted around the country that have been converted into unique conference and event venues. This week we have been lucky enough to work in two of them.
On Monday we loaded in to The Arches, in the Dean Clough mill complex in Halifax.
This historic building is just one of sixteen Grade II listed Victorian mills. Once the home of the world’s largest carpet manufacturer, the entire plot is now collection of mixed use spaces, close to the centre of the former wool and textile town.
On Wednesday it was out into the countryside of North Nottinghamshire, to visit the Pumping house. A grade II listed former engine house on the edge of Sherwood Forest.
Built in 1909 by the Nottingham Water Department, and restored for 21st-century, the building retains the charm of its industrial heritage, with distinctive red-brick frontage, an original combustor chimney and full-length arched windows.
At the heart of the venue is the impressive double-height Engine Hall, accommodating up to 200 guests.
Complemented by airy breakout rooms filled with natural light from original arched windows.
Both venues are unique, but have all the necessities required to support a modern conference.
Plenty of power sockets available, high speed internet access and a supporting cast of friendly event managers and staff who make the minor challenges of working in quirky buildings and absolute pleasure.
