A government agency wanted to review multiple applications for funding in a 'Dragons den' style pitch, where each applicant joined a meeting using zoom to pitch their ideas to the decision making panel. All of whom were ensconced in a local hotel.

The agency were running three simultaneous panels in three adjacent rooms, and it was a full days program of meeting after meeting in order to fit all the applicants in.

Arriving on site at 6am, we were connecting to the venues own projector and screen. We linked one of our cameras to a Zoom enabled laptop, added some push to talk delegate microphones to a suitable sound system and connected that into a laptop using a sound card to connect to zoom.

Rinse and repeat in each room.

We made test calls to check both audio and video in each system before 9am, and we were comfortably ready for the first applicant to join at 10:00

Once the client was happily up and running in all three rooms, I let my assistant technician go onto his next job, whilst I stayed in the lounge with a very, very strong coffee, ready to pounce in case of any technical issues.

There were some volume adjustments to make as the day went on as different users had slightly different needs.

There was also a minor complication on a couple of occasions where the participant was struggling to connect into the call. Thankfully I was able to get hold of them on their phone, and talked them through joining zoom, so it was definitely worth me staying on to support the client.
